A current study has revealed that deadly malaria causing mosquitoes avoid chicken. The reason behind this could be the odor of the chickens. The odor coming from these and other animals could work as a protection technique for humans, as it could save them from mosquito-transmitted diseases, such as malaria. Rickard Ignell is the co-author of a Malaria Journal from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. He stated in a press release that they were shocked to find out that malaria causing mosquitoes could not resist the odor of chicken and get repelled. He further stated that this reveals that malaria mosquitoes avoid feeding on some of the animal species and such behavior of mosquitoes is regulated by the indication of odor.
